I just can't resist sharing some of my favorites from 2016. Boy was it hard to choose which images to share! I am so grateful to the families who have chosen me to preserve their memories. Great friends have been made along the way and the journey has only just begun...Aren't they just gorgeous? Thanks for taking a look back with me. I just can't wait to capture moments for my 2017 families!
Blended
It really is a challenge to get a family of six together for a family photo session, but we did it and I couldn't be more thrilled! This beautiful group was grown through biology, Korean adoption and Chinese adoption...They really are a shining example of what love is, of what acceptance is and what an open heart looks like...This Mom and Dad are doing something right...Kids who are bright, talented, diverse and I should mention one of them is off to collage in only a few months! In between rain showers and even with everyone's crazy schedules, we made it happen. What an honor to know them and a greater privilege to get to photograph them.
50 Years
Have you ever been the host of a party while trying to document that same party with photographs to remember all the great moments? Man is it hard. I did my best this past weekend as we celebrated my parent's 50th wedding Anniversary. Yes, you read that right...50 years of marriage!! How incredible is that?
Although my images may be a little bit blurry or not quite the angle I would have really wanted, who freakin cares? It's still documented and my parents are on a high from the evening. We picked them up in a limo, toasted to 50 more happy years together and presented them with their gift. Tickets to Macinac Island, Michigan... The location of one of their favorite old movies "Somewhere in Time" starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour…
.The next stop was Old Town Alexandria for the best Old Fashioneds and sodas for the kids...And then there was dinner, where our family from New York had just driven 5 hours to surprise Mom and Dad...
Through the ups and downs, they keep on laughing and you can very rarely find one without the other. Cheers to another 50 happy years together!
